Government Fraud Schemes
Every governing body around the world suffers from government fraud schemes. It is a huge problem that just wont go away.
It is as much as a problem externally as it is internally. These types of crimes hurt our country, our economy and taxpayers. Penalties are increasing around the world, in order to put a stop to this deception.
Welfare Fraud :
Tax payers foot the bill for people who fraudulently claim welfare. It is a growing problem that many think is way out of hand. Some con artists go as far as claiming welfare under several fake names.
Healthcare Fraud :
The healthcare system takes huge hits due to health related fraud schemes. Needless operations from money hungry doctors, fake insurance brokers leaving patients helpless and untreated, bogus and expired drugs from local drug stores and people claiming healthcare under fake names are just a few examples of what to look out for.
Social Insurance Number Fraud :
One of the worst things a person can do is give their social insurance number out to unknown sources. There is so much damage that can be done if a con artists gets their hands on your S.I.N. Never give your information out over the phone unless you know who you are talking to.
Tax Fraud :
There are several forms of tax fraud that take place around the world. The most common are by those who do not declare their earnings. If the government finds out, they will come knocking at your door demanding payment and many times resulting in hefty fines or prison. Other acts include claiming tax refunds under fake names or declaring false information on tax documents.
ID Fraud :
Fake ID's aren't the only type, in fact, there are many ways in which a criminal can use your identification. The internet is a great example of how people get away with this crime. Because they are unable to be tracked or captured on surveillance camera, criminals are able to use your stolen id for their own personal delights.
